Liz Earle Rose & Lavender Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

I'd read on several blogs about this Limited Edition Rose & Lavender Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser.

"From every special edition Cleanse & Polish (£19.75) sold £2 of your money will go towards supporting The Prince's Trust's vital work.  With your help, we are hoping to raise £100,000 for this worthy cause".

I'd forgotten how lovely it is to get a parcel from Liz Earle!  Beautifully wrapped in white tissue and with two lovely extras.

I am enjoying using the cleanser although I only really smell the lavender scent.  I am using it before bed and enjoying its calming scent.

It contains cocoa butter to soften, rosemary, chamomile and hops to tone and soothe and rose petal and high-altitude lavender essential oils to relax and calm.

I was sent a free 30ml spritzer bottle of Instant Boost Skin Tonic and a sample of  the new perfume (launching Monday) Botanical Essence No.15 - its gorgeous!  With notes of bergamot, cedarwood, patchouli, guaiacwood, sandalwood, tonka bean, cypriol, benzoin, damask rose, elemi, cinnamon leaf, clove bud, pink pepper, Bourbon vanilla and vetivert.  It is a spicy, rich, warm and sexy scent.  One I'm adding to my wishlist!

What's your favourite Liz Earle product?

Cooking from The Simple Things magazine

I first mentioned this amazing new magazine "The Simple Things" here.  I just love it and it even inspired me to do some baking (yummy chocolate and raspberry brownies) and some courgette and potato fritters with produce from the plot!  Roll on next month - the next issue is out next week :)

September Books

Again this month I've not managed my four book target...

As soon as I started reading this book I couldn't put it down! Jane Logan moves to Berlin to be with her partner, she's six month's pregnant and only know Petra - who is out at work all day so she spends a lot of hours alone.  Jane starts to hear shouting and noises in the apartment and see shadows on the stairs.  She tries to be-friend her neighbour's daughter who she believes is being abused but her involvement isolates her.  There is a lot of tension and darkness and you are kept guessing until the end.

I think Nameless is my favourite Jessie Keane book.  The book starts in 1941 when mixed race Ruby is born. She's got two brothers who head straight into a life of gangland crime while Ruby manages the family shop.  As she hits her teens she meets an aristocrat. She finds herself pregnant and then has twins and her brother forces her to give them up.  She turns the family store into a retail empire and is very successful.  But she can never forget her children.

What books have you been reading this month?

Estee Lauder Gift With Purchase - Harvey Nichols

Harvey Nichols do an amazing Deluxe Estee Lauder Gift with Purchase offer twice a year in May and September - and they are always the most luxurious ones.

You get this amazing gift free with two or more items one to be a moisturiser, eye care product or repair serum.  I'm splitting this one with my mum so she bought  Resilience Lift Night and I had wanted to buy something from the Aerin Beauty collection - but unfortunately at the moment it's not stocked on any counters outside London - boo!

I did pick up an amazing perfume that I have used once before which I picked up in Harrods a few years ago before it was launched nationwide. Private Collection - Tuberose Gardenia EDP 30ml.  It is a simply stunning perfume with notes of Tuberose, Gardenia, Neroli, Lilac, Rosewood, Orangeflower, Jasmine, White Lily, Carnation and Vanilla Bourbon.  I'll do a full review shortly but I'm loving it all over again!

Nicole, the friendly assistant showed me everything in the gift and gave me advice on how to use the products.  She also gave me a luxury 7ml sample of Advanced Night Repair to try.

Onto the fabulous gift:

Re-Nutriv Hydrating Creme Cleanser 30ml
Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Correcting Cream 15ml
Re-Nutriv Intensive Smoothing Hand Cream 30ml
Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift-Age Correcting Serum 5ml
Pure Colour Gloss in Wired Copper Shimmer
Double Wear Stay in Place Lip Pencil - Spice
Pure Colour Long Lasting Lipstick - Melon Shimmer
Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara mini in Black
A tote bag and make up bag

I was also given a card featuring the "Signature Services" which are free! You can chose from - Eyes - fatigue fighter, simple smoky eye or fool-proof eye liner and mascara pro-tips.  Face - look even more toned - instantly, the Estee Lauder 5-step face, two minute face lift or Instant Radiance Boost.  If you don't have much time you can get a 2 minute touch up with Pure Colour.  You also receive a 10 day supply of your perfect foundation with any "Signature Service".

The offer runs from 27 September - 13 October 2012 at all Harvey Nichols stores.

September Empties

It's that time of the month again! Empties.  I look as if I have got through loads - but the vast majority is samples (from my sample challenge).

And for a closer look..

Pure Thoughts Tangerine & Jojoba Whipped Shea Butter - a pot of absolute gorgeous-ness scented with tangerine.  Super moisturising.  I will definitely purchase this again (you can see the other scents available here.)

Lavera Faces Intensive Cream 1ml sachet - hated this, thought it smelt quite artificial and I didn't like the feel of it on my skin.

L'Occitane Milk Concentrate Body Lotion 8ml - this was really nice.  I'd consider buying it in the future.  Love all L'Occitane products though.

Noble Isle Willow Song Bath & Shower Gel 30ml - this was lovely would definitely purchase full size.  Gentle scent with green florals and mellow woods. I got this in a Sampler Set.  Noble Isle are now offering free P&P if you buy this set.

Lacoste Pour Femme Body Lotion 50ml - this was light and flowery and nice to use.  Great for use in the summer.

L'Occitane Exfoliating Gel 5ml sachet - loved this.  Would definitely like to purchase at some point.

Rahua Voluminous Shampoo & Conditioner sachets - love these but would never pay the full size prices.

NEOM Restore Bath Oil 5ml - probably liked this scent the least out of the mini bottles.

RMK Cleansing Oil 3ml - love this cleansing oil scented with rose and mint.  Will definitely pick up a full size bottle at some point.

Annick Goutal Mandagore 25ml EDT - this was from December's Feel Unique Box - oh how I miss Feel Unique still!  Love this fruity and minty scent.  Recently bought one from a blog sale and got one in a swap (thanks Michelle and Karen).

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist 15ml - got this in the Latest in Beauty YOU - In-Flight Travel Kit.  I loved this mist lightly scented with roses.  I'll definitely buy this full size  at some point. A real feel good product and my skin loved it.

Jo Malone Bluebell Cologne 1.5ml vial - A gorgeous scent.  I own the Bluebell body cream and love it.

Green People Moisturising Shower/Bath Gel - Neroli & Marshmallow - 200ml - loved this.  It smelt amazing and I enjoyed showering with it.  I reviewed it here.  I'd definitely re-purchase.

TAAJ Eau Micellaire 100ml - this came from February's Joliebox.  I loved it and would re-purchase.

Rituals Mei Dao - White Lotus & Yi Yi Ren Body Cream - got this free with a magazine.  This is the third body lotion used up in my Project Pan.  Not sure if I'd re-purchase but I did enjoy using it.

Dior The New Nude Foundation 1.5ml sachet - liked this would maybe purchase full size.

Korres Quercetin & Oak Anti-Ageing & Anti-Wrinkle Light Texture Cream 1.5ml sachet - loved this but only got a couple of uses out the sachet.  Would like to buy full size or try a bigger trial size.

Biotherm Aqua source 24hr moisturiser 1ml sachet - another really nice moisturiser.  Would buy full size.

Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial 2ml - loved this, smelt amazing.  Keen to try some more products from Sarah Chapman.

Sisleya Global Anti-Age Cream 5ml - love this, have one left from swaps.  Gorgeous cream but wouldn't buy as it costs a fortune!

Aveda Caribbean Therapy Body Scrub 60g - love this scrub.  Made skin super soft and it was nicely scented.  Would buy full size.

REN Mayblossom Balancing Cleansing Gel 5ml - nice and effective product but didn't love the scent so wouldn't buy.

Gielly Green Repair Shampoo 30ml - really like this and would buy again. Smells gorgeous and hair feels really clean.

Crabtree & Evelyn Citron, honey and coriander body lotion 37ml - this was a nice lotion, melted into the skin and lightly scented.  Probably wouldn't purchase as there are other lotions I want to try more.

Bodhi Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil 5ml - I reviewed the face oil here.  Love this and have since bought the full size bottle.  It's my holy grail skincare product.

Alison Claire Vanilla & Coconut Body Butter - sample size - I was sent this to review.  The cream had a nice texture but I didn't like the artificial scent.  I'd have preferred it to smell more strongly of coconut and vanilla.  Would maybe try it in another scent as the body butter feels nice on the skin.

Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo 70ml - a lovely shampoo.  I'd definitely consider re-purchasing.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask sachet - a great mask.  Perfect for brightening the skin.  It made my skin look radiant.  It is quite expensive and I've got a load of masks to use up so probably won't purchase.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation sachet in Golden Beige - not quite my colour but the foundation blended well and felt nice on the skin so would maybe look at a different colour.

Naked Revitalising Hair Treatment 20ml - loved this.  Will definitely pick this mask up again as it left my hair so healthy looking (and I got two uses from the sachet).

Beatitude Peace Bath Oil Sample - gorgeous! I reviewed it here.  I'd definitely purchase and I'm fancying trying the Joy bath oil next.

sk:n Cleanse 3ml sachet - this was nice.  Made my skin feel really clean. Got a load of cleansers to use up at the moment.  I may purchase in the future.

Sanctuary Liquid Soap 250ml - like the scent of this and it works well.  I usually pick them up in 3 for 2 deals.

Fudge OOMF Conditioner 7ml sachet - hated the banana scent but the product was good.  Wouldn't buy as I just hated the scent.

Alison Claire Lemongrass Shower Gel 50ml - another product sent to test.  I quite enjoyed using this especially for my morning shower.  It had a nice lemongrass scent.

John Frieda Full Repair Full Body Shampoo & Conditioner

A while back the PR girls at John Frieda asked if I would link up a video on my blog - the video made the hair styles look so easy to do - a 1960s beehive and a full body blow dry.

A couple of weeks later they sent me Full Repair Full Body Shampoo and the Full Repair Full Body Conditioner to try out.  I've been using these products at least 3 times a week for the last month or so.

They contain Inca Inchi which is a lightweight micro-oil which is rich in Omega 3.  The products repair the hair making it appear more healthy and shiny.  All the products in the range are safe for colour and chemically treated hair.

At Boots they cost £5.98 each and they are in the current 3 for 2 deal.

I really like the light floral scent of the shampoo & conditioner and how soft and healthy looking they make my highlighted hair look.  My hair looks fuller and has more body when I blow dry it.

After shampooing apply the conditioner which can be rinsed off straight away or left in for 2-5 minutes for more intensive conditioning.

Have you used any of these products?  What are your thoughts?

Selfridges Advent Calendar

I got this wonderful Advent Calendar last year! It was fantastic - I loved getting a little present every day right up until Christmas.

You can sign up to be notified when it is live to buy here.

Alison Claire Lemongrass Shower Gel & Vanilla & Coconut Body Butter

Alison Claire tweeted that she was looking for beauty bloggers to review products.  I jumped at the chance as I love trying new products and brands.  I was sent 50ml Lemongrass Shower Gel and two small pots of Vanilla & Coconut Body Butter.

Alison Claire products are free from SLS, Parabens, Phenoxyethanol, PEGs and contain no synthetic fragrances or colours.

The Lemongrass Shower gel was nice to use with a light lemongrass scent.  It lathered well on the skin.  Was invigorating to use in the morning and left the skin feeling clean and fresh.  I'd like to try the Peppermint Shower Gel next.

I was disappointed with the Vanilla & Coconut Body Butter.  It had a nice texture and felt great on the skin but I found the scent a bit artificial and I didn't think it smelt of vanilla and coconut - both scents I love.

Have you used any Alison Claire products before?

Joliebox Review - September

I received my September Joliebox yesterday and I'm loving it.  It is London Fashion Week themed box.

Included is:

A full size Raspberry Balmi Lip Balm worth £4.99.  I'm loving this cute little balm.  It has a SPF of 15.  You can attach it to your bag or keys.

A 30ml Redken align 12 Protective Straightening Lotion.  Love Redken so looking forward to trying this.

I love....Coconut Face Mask 15ml sachet - for all skin types - a peel off mask - a type which I adore.  Can't wait to try.  I also love coconut scents.

Two Twistband hair ties in orange and red.  They keep your ponytail secure but don't leave bumps in your hair when you pull them out.  I wear my hair tied back a lot so looking forward to testing them out.  It is basically a piece of knotted thickish elastic in a huge range of colours.

Two Dr Bragi Bio Marine Exfoliant sachets.  I tried this as a Latest in Beauty sample and found it too harsh for my skin.  It's an extra so I don't mind so much.

Did you get the box?  What are your thoughts?

September Favourites

Here are my September favourites -

Stila One Step Skin Tone Brightening Serum 30ml - I received this in the Selfridges Beauty Box.  I love this primer - I find my make up lasts longer when I use it and it brightens up my skin.  A really fab product.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Shade 4.5 - I always come back to this foundation.  I like how it makes my skin look flawless (or near to!).

Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Honey Bath - a pot of absolute gorgeous-ness! I picked this up with the body cream in the spring sale at Harvey Nichols at a bargain price of £15 for both.  Comes with a honey dipper for swirling the bath creme into the bath water.  I highly recommend it - smells amazing and creates lots of lovely bubbles.

Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile Sublime EDP Roll On 5ml - this is a new launch and you can pick the full size up at Escentual.com.  It's gorgeous - with notes of mandarin, neroli, iris, jasmine, rose and orange flower essence.  I'm loving wearing it.

Lancome Hypnose Star Mascara in Black - my favourite mascara of the moment.

Angela Langford Perfect Pores Serum and Balanced & Beautiful Facial Oil - you can see my review here.

Since trying Sarah Chapman's Overnight Facial as a sample recently I'm really keen to try more products from the range.

Fresh mini Lip Balm set - this is a Christmas gift set which will retail at £36 - you can get mail order over the telephone if you can't get instore to Marylebone High Street in London.  I first saw this gift on Make up Savvy's blog.

The whole of the Aerin Collection at Estee Lauder - gorgeous!  You can view the range here.  As there is a GWP deal starting on 27 September at Harvey Nichols - I may be tempted!

Beatitude Soaps and Bath Oils

Beatitude is a Scottish Aromatherapy Company which which sells beautiful hand made bath oils and soaps.  You can see the full range here.

I bought two soaps in Patience which contain essential oils of rosemary, lavender, ginger and juniperberry.  Good for use after exercise for soothing the body.  It is also a detox formula so is good if you are tired or feeling sluggish.

Rebecca also included a sample size bath oil in Peace which is a soothing and relaxing blend containing Ylang Ylang, Mandarin, Petigrain, Lavender and Cedarwood.  You only need a small amount for a highly scented and relaxing bath.  I love this, I'm definitely going to pick up full size soon.

The third scent available is Joy which has notes of orange, mandarin, petigrain, grapefruit and bergamot - making it uplifting and energising.  "Sunshine" in a bottle "ideal for dark winter days and nights and when in need of a boost".

The soaps are wrapped in brown tissue with a "beatitude" sticker on the front and an ingredients sticker on the back.  They come in a pretty box making the soap an ideal gift.

The soaps are made in small batches and are rich in shea butter, olive, coconut and castor seeds oils, oatmeal to soothe and essential oils for wellbeing.  Products are palm oil free and contain no sodium chloride or EDTA.

The bath oils are made with a base of Oat, Camellia and Peach Kernel Oils.  The bath oil disperses easily in the bath water.

All packaging is recyclable.

The bath oil is priced at - £22 for 50ml, £38 for 100ml and a trio of bath oils (each 50ml) is £66 - I'm adding the trio to my wishlist!

The soaps start at £3.95 for 50g (and come in a white organza bag) and £9.50 for 100g.

You can view the website here.  Follow on Twitter @beatitudeoils

Vichy Idealia Smoothing & Illuminating Cream & Pro Dark Spot Corrector

Escentual are offering 33% off French Brands at the moment.  This includes Vichy Idealia - a gorgeous new skincare line.

I've recently begun testing out samples of the Smoothing Illuminating Cream for Normal and Combination skin and the Pro Deep Corrector for all skin types.

The Vichy Idealia Smoothing Illuminating Cream for normal/combination skin 50ml normally £22 is retailing at £14.65 until 30 September.

It brightens, reduces pores, wrinkles and smoothes the skin.  It's also great for any dark spots (I've got a small sun spot) and it's definitely helping.  Apply every morning and evening avoiding the eye area. The cream works in the dermis (the skin's deeper layers) to discourage skin pigmentation and to help rebalance the skin.

A gel textured cream which melts into the skin and smells amazing! Scented with Kombucha (from Ceylon black tea concentrated at 3%), white flowers and woods.  For me it has a fruity scent almost like raspberries.

The Vichy Idealia Pro Deep Corrector is for all skin types and is a serum which corrects, evens out fine lines and makes the skin more radiant.  Again, apply morning and night.  Currently this is retailing at £19.31 for 30ml (instead of £29).

Tested under dermatological control, paraben free and enriched with Vichy thermal water.  Further thoughts will follow once I've used the products for a week or so.

Have you used this range?

L'Oreal True Match Foundation - Golden Beige - 1ml - a nice product, blended well but not quite my colour. I'd probably try it in a different shade.

REN Mayblossom Balancing Cleansing Gel 5ml tube - a nice cleanser, quite liked the scent but probably wouldn't buy it again as didn't love it.

Dr Bragi Bio-Marine Exfoliant - this was way too harsh on my skin, didn't end up finishing it as just didn't like it.

The Simple Things Magazine - First Issue Out Now!

I picked up the new magazine, The Simple Things today (October issue) and its fabulous!  It comes from the people who bring us Mollie Makes.

I am loving everything about it - but here are a few of my favourite things.

It is simply a gorgeous magazine! You can subscribe here.  It is definitely a magazine I'm going to be wanting to read every single month! I picked my copy up in M&S but WHSmith, Sainsbury's and most major supermarkets stock it.  Have you read this issue or do you think you will?

Angela Langford Perfect Pores Serum & Balanced & Beautiful Face Oil - Latest in Beauty Luxury Samples

I picked up Angela Langford Perfect Pores Anti-Ageing Plumping & Pore Perfecting Specialist Face Serum and Balanced & Beautiful Kiwi & Rosehip Face oil as Latest in Beauty Luxury Samples recently.  I picked the variety for Oily/Combination skin.

With the samples came a discount code for 15% off any product valid until 30th September - which I thought was a generous extra.

The products are handmade in small batches by Angela at home in Somerset and tested on friends and family - not animals.  Products are free from parabens, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances and colours.

Perfect Pores is a rich serum which is "your secret weapon for repelling wrinkles, purifying pores and balancing your skin".

Ingredients include hyaluronic acid, spilanthes acmella flower extract, rosehip, kiwi and frankincense oils, Vitamin A, B, C & E, rose petals, cypress, juniper, lemongrass and palmarosa essential oils.

It smells amazing and feels great on the skin.  I've noticed my pores are less noticeable since using the serum.

To use apply a pea size amount to cleansed face and neck.  You can use in conjunction with a facial or under your moisturiser.  Can be used morning and night.

Full size retails at £26.55 for 30ml.

Use after Perfect Pores massaging a few drops into the face and neck.  This also can be used morning and night.  If used with Perfect Pores you don't need to use moisturiser.

I have been enjoying using the oil, like the serum it smells amazing and both products are really nice to use.
