Designer James Heeley was in France on business when he discovered how scents are designed and made. One of his first perfumes was Menthe Fraiche which is made from mint - an elegant and very wearable creation. Everything is done in house from creating and formulating the perfumes to packaging.
I recently picked up a perfume purchase at Harvey Nichols (link - expect a review soon) and the assistant, Mandy gave me a really generous selection of samples including some Heely ones.
CoccoBello EdP (Tropical Island Paradise) which is a lush coconut scent. It has notes of Palm Leaves, Gardenia, Fresh Coconut, Sea Salt, Bourbon Vanilla, Virginian Cedarwood, Benjoin and Sandalwood.
Hippie Rose EdP (An Air of Freedom) a rich and spicy rose scent with notes of Italian Bergamot, Green Moss, Bulgarian Rose, Patchouli, Incense, Amber, Vetivert and Musk. Lush!
Saint Clements EdP (Oranges & Lemons say the Bells of St Clements) refreshing and zesty this is the perfect scent for long hot summer days. It has notes of Orange, Lemon, Bergamot, Mandarine, Neroli, Petigrain, Earl Grey Tea, Ylang Ylang and Vetiver.
L'Amandiere Extrait de Parfum (A Portrait of Spring) an uplifting floral with notes of Green Almond, Jasmine, Rose and Tilia.
I've just loved all four of these samples (oops) and would be quite happy to own a full size bottle of any of the above. So you see, perfume samples really are a great way to try before you buy.
